F-25 Error Maytag washer

Question: F-25 Error Maytag washer

Hello. Maytag Model # mhwz400tq01. I have an f-25 error. On the spin cycle, the motor will turn anti clockwise twice then won't spin again. Then the code f-25 pops up. I have checked all wiring and harnesses with no issues. I have tested pins 1-5. 5.7 ohms between pins 1-2, 2-3 and 1-3. Pins 4-5, I get 0 ohms. I have learned that the tachometer pins (4-5) should show 115 ohms. A little help would be great so I don't spend $200 on a new motor that I don't need. Thanks.

Hello,

Yes you are correct the approximate resistance is 117 ohms. Normal = 115 - 120 ohms between pins 4-5, if you do not which you are saying you don't the tachometer is bad in the motor and it's built into the motor so if you want to fix it the motor will have to be replaced unfortunately. You can get them for around 150.00 new on amazon there is a link below you can order it from. Once you click the link below click the see all buying options button the right side of page to see price.

If you don't mind getting a used motor you can pick up a good used motor on ebay for around 45.00 The part number you need to search for is WPW10140581.

Hope this helps.
