Error F5E2

Question: Error F5E2

Hello, we received the error F5 E2 and inspection of the door lock showed that it was not engaging and was very dirty. I fussed with it and ultimately got it to engage but then would not open (meaning it could not receive the door and the door would not close). At that point I ordered and replaced the door lock piece. Connected everything just as it was and now the door closes great but I am still receiving the error. Unplugged and plugged back in and still the same F5 E2. Wires and connections are intact. Could this be a circuit board problem? Is it time to call an expert or is there still something I could do myself?

Hello Mike,

Visually check that the J5 (door switch/ temperature sensor) and J9 (door lock) connectors are inserted all the way into the ACU (The main control). If the connections are good follow the instructions provided below, enter service mode and clear all stored error codes.

Step 1: Activate Service Mode

Activate Service Mode

Step 2: Clear Stored Error Codes

Clear Stored Codes

Step 3: Unplug the washer for one full minute and restore power and try to start a Cycle.

If the above steps did not work you would need to replace the ACU. If you need the part number,  submit a new question with your model number and I will give you the correct part number to order.
