Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Control Board Replacement

Question: Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Control Board Replacement

I was getting error code F1 on my whirlpool washer. I replace the control board (PN W10051176) with a new control board and started getting error code F50 instead of F1. I put the old part back in and now get the F1 error instead of the F50. Do you have to reset anything on the washer when you replace the control board?

Ok so the board giving the F1 error is a bad board and you were correct to replace it. Since you are now getting the F50 error with the new board that means your washer had a few issues. The board was bad and there is a problem with the drive motor circuit. It's probably just a bad RPS sensor but the article I linked you below will walk you through the process of troubleshooting that code. As far as there being anything to reset goes, no there is not. Your washer just had multiple issues so once you replaced the board and the F1 error was solved the new board found more problems.
