How do I install a 4 prong dryer cord on my dryer?

Question: How do I install a 4 prong dryer cord on my dryer?

I moved into a new house and it has a 4 prong wall plug instead of a 3 prong. I need to know how to install a 4 prong dryer cord on my dryer. Thanks in advance!

Hello Jack, On the back of the dryer where you see the old 3 prong dryer cord going in the back of the dryer (at the terminal block) remove the terminal block cover plate. Once you have removed the cover you will loosen up the screws (usually 1/4 inch hex head screws). Remove the old cord. On your 4 prong dryer cord you will have green, black, white and red wires. The black will go to the left terminal, the white will go in the middle and the red will go on the right. The green will go with the white neutral wire you see screwed in on the left, outside the terminal block on the dryer case.
