Replacement Of Control Board Does Not Resolve Issue

Question: Replacement Of Control Board Does Not Resolve Issue

I have a Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine (Model WFW9351YW00). I have owed this for about 5-6 years. About 3-4 years ago, a severe lightning storm came through our community and I had a power surge go through my house. The washer stopped working and displayed the F1 E1 code. I did a trouble-shot and replaced the control board and all worked perfectly. Now, about two weeks ago, there was another lighting storm and I had another power surge through the house. The washer again began displaying the F1 E1 error code. What was different this time was, the washer would work, but would stop unexpectedly during different actions in the wash cycle. Sometimes as it was filling the washer and other times, when the washer was pumping the water out. Very odd. I ordered a replacement control board and installed it yesterday. I ran a rinse / spin cycle and the washer worked perfectly. But, only that ONE time. I put some clothes in the washer, put it on delicate and started the cycle. The washer filled with water, began washing and as the washer began pumping water out, it stopped and displayed the F1 E1 error code. Question - What could this be and what should I check next? This is frustrating.

It's possible that the drain pump is bad or there is a bad connection between the pump and the ACU. Replace the drain pump as the main control may be a bad signal from the pump causing a false error. The pump you need can be ordered from the link below:
