Lf Error On 3 Year-old Maytag

Question: Lf Error On 3 Year-old Maytag

LF error code suddenly appeared a few minutes after the cycle started. Clothes got barely wet, then the washer beeped with the error code(been washing fine up until this). No water will come out on the wash cycles. I tried all other cycles and the only one that works is the "Clean with Affresh" cycle. Otherwise, the washer just begins to spin and no water comes out. Does that sound like a control board? Clearly there's no blockage since the cleaning cycle works. The washer is only 2-3 years old. Thank you.

I suspect your washer may be in a no water error mode. When you start a cycle on that model, and there is no water pressure or water pressure cuts off during the cycle, it goes into a no water error mode, causing the unit to run through an 8-minute reset mode, and all that will happen is the pump will run. The door will remain locked until after the 8-minute error cycle has completed. Once the error cycle ends, the door will unlock on its own, and the unit will reset. Still, you have to let it complete the full error cycle uninterrupted. If you stop it or unplug it during this error cycle, it will only reset the error it will not reset until you let it run the full 8-minute error cycle.

If after 8 minutes the washer does not reset and you have proper water pressure to the washer and you are still getting the LF error code then the water inlet valve on the washer has failed and needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps solve your problem. If you need the part information just post a new question requesting the part information along with the full model number of your washer.
