How to Check Wiring for F10 Error After Replacing the Sensor

Asked by: Denis on July 17, 2023

I replaced the oven sensor as it was out of range using a multimeter. If replacing the electronic control board doesn’t resolve the F10 error, how do I check the wiring to confirm it’s functioning correctly?

Answered By: MasterTech

The process depends on the oven model. In most ranges, the sensor wire runs directly to the control board, meaning that replacing the sensor typically resolves any wiring-related issues. However, if the sensor wire connects to an intermediate wire before reaching the control board, you’ll need to check continuity on the wire the sensor plugs into. To do this, test the continuity between the sensor's connection point and the control board to ensure the wiring is intact and functioning properly.
