Ask an Appliance Repair QuestionAsked by: Veronica Main on December 20, 2021
During a quick wash cycle, my washer made a noise and then stopped. I unplugged it for five minutes, plugged it back in, and received a dispenser error message stating "not detected." After reseating the dispenser and attempting to restart the washer, the error code changed to "F6E2." The display then advised contacting customer service with the error code. I’ve read similar questions and answers but cannot locate the control panel part for my model. Is it worth attempting to repair this washer?
This is a valid concern. Unfortunately, the user interface board for your model is no longer being manufactured, meaning it is not available for replacement. The main ACU control board costs approximately $400. However, even if you invest in replacing the main board, there is a possibility that the user interface is also faulty. This would mean spending $400 without resolving the issue, leaving you to still purchase a new washer. Given these circumstances, it is not cost-effective to repair the washer. Replacing it with a new model is the better option and will save you additional frustration and expenses in the long run.
