Hello,
My washer has a water button that allows me to prewash clothes, and this function works fine. However, when I select a wash cycle and start it, the washer doesn't fill with water during the cycle, leaving the clothes dry. The detergent and fabric softener are still in their compartments, which means the washer hasn't started washing. Should I try resetting the washer before considering more drastic measures?
If your Whirlpool washer model WTW7500GC0 is running but not filling with water during the wash cycle, there may be an issue with the washer's main control board. Since the prewash function is working correctly, it suggests that the washer can get water, but there might be a problem with how the control board manages the water intake during regular cycles.
As a first step, you can try resetting the washer's electronics. To do this, turn off the power at the breaker or fuse panel for your home for one full minute, then restore power. This can sometimes resolve minor electronic glitches that affect the control board.
If resetting the washer does not solve the problem, it could indicate a malfunction in the main control board. In the Whirlpool washer model WTW7500GC0, the water level sensor is integrated into the main control board. Therefore, if the washer isn't filling with water during the cycle, the main control board may need to be replaced to ensure proper operation.
