Repair Advice:

Troubleshooting and fixing the F10 error code in your Kenmore or Frigidaire range involves identifying the root cause, which could be a faulty temperature sensor, a malfunctioning electronic control board, or an issue with the wiring connecting the two components.

Step 1: Troubleshoot the Temperature Sensor

The temperature sensor is typically located on the back wall of the oven and can either be mounted with two screws or positioned on the back side of the range. If you can't see the sensor after opening the oven door, you may need to remove the back access panel of the range. You'll usually find it mounted on the right side.

Step 2: Testing the Temperature Sensor

Disconnect the sensor from the wiring harness and test its resistance using an ohm meter. At room temperature, the resistance should be around 1100 ohms. A significant deviation from this value indicates a defective sensor, likely causing the F10 error.

Step 3: Examine the Wiring

If the sensor is functioning correctly, your next step is to check the wiring from the sensor to the main control board. Look for any signs of damage and test continuity. Repair or replace any faulty wiring to resolve the error.

Step 4: Assess the Control Board

If both the sensor and wiring are in good condition, the issue may lie with the main control board. To replace it:

  • Remove the console access panel located at the back of the console. It is usually held in place by a few screws.
  • Once the cover is off, you'll see the back of the control board, mounted with screws.
  • Take a picture of the wiring setup for reference, then disconnect and remove the old board.
  • Install the new control board, ensuring all wires are correctly reconnected as per your reference picture.

Following these steps should help you effectively fix the F10 error in your Kenmore or Frigidaire range. If the issue persists, it may be time to consult a professional technician for further assistance.
